CD Project is Listed Company of the Year
CD Project, the most widely known Polish video game company, has been announced the Listed Company of the Year 2015. The award was presented for the 17th time.
The prestigious event is organized by Puls Biznesu, a Polish daily business and economy newspaper owned by the Bonnier Group. Honorary patronage over the event is granted by Ministry of the Ministry of State Treasury.
The trophy is awarded to the company that scored most points in a survey conducted among 100 experts in the area of capital markets and finance (market analysts, advisers, brokers). The survey was carried out by TNS Polska, a market research firm.
During the study, the experts evaluated companies that were listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2015. Taken into consideration are the most liquid companies included in the WIG20, mWIG40 and sWIG80 stock market indexes.
Interestingly, the award for the second place went to CI Games, which is also a video game developer. The third position was taken by Grupa Kęty, a producer of aluminium components and products.
The five criteria taken into consideration when ranking the companies were: innovativeness of products and services, investor relations, board management competences and development perspectives. Top scorers in each of the category were awarded as well.
A special prize was presented for the company that made the greatest success in 2015. Not surprisingly, the award went to CD Project. There was also an award from Puls Biznesu readers, who picked their favourite listed company in an online poll (they chose Grodno).
Last year, CD Project was ranked 15th, and Grupa Kęty 25th. The holder of the second place, CI Games, was ranked 110th, which means it made an incredible jump of 118 positions in just 12 months.
In the top 10 there were also: Beneft Systems (4th), Kruk (5th), Quercus TFI (6th), Uniwheels (7th), Comarch (8th), Assecco Poland (9th) and AmRest Holdings (10th). Last year, it was Kruk that was voted the Listed Company of the Year.
CD Project, a game producer and distributor, stole everyone’s hearts thanks to the company’s great accomplishment: the game Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, released in May 2015.
The third instalment of the fantasy action role-playing game series, the scenario of which is based on the books by Polish top-selling fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski, received numerous gaming industry awards and was a huge commercial success.
