Business Centre Club awards business leaders
Business Centre Club held its annual Great Gala of the Leaders of Polish Business.
The Gala took place in Polish National Opera. During the ceremony, 16 Polish companies were awarded, out of 27 that were nominated for the honour.
The award has been presented since 1992. The golden statues are presented to the companies and entrepreneurs that make efforts to conduct operations with business ethics in mind, and their actions are characterized by the concern over the state of the country.
This year’s award winners are the following: American Heart of Poland S.A., Ankol sp. z o.o., Astor sp. z o.o., Gabi-Plast P.P.H., Gdańskie Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej, IDS-BUD S.A., Klingspor sp. z o.o., Krywałd-Plast sp. z o.o., Multifarb sp. z o.o., PIT-RADWAR S.A., Rockfin sp. z o.o., WDX S.A., Zakład Handlowo-Usługowy “Hasan”, Zakład Produkcji Automatyki Sieciowej, ZIEL-BRUK Makarewicz, ZUE S.A.
Another awards presented were the Medals of Social Justice for those engaged in charity work and incorporating corporate social responsibility in their work. This year the Medals went to Górażdże Cement, McDonald’s Polska, and the Polish Province of the Congregation of the Barnabite Fathers.
The Special Award (for individuals acting outside the sphere of business) was presented to Reverend Adam Boniecki.
It is worth noting that the ceremony was attended by such public figures as former Polish President Bronisław Komorowski and Deputy Marshal of the Senate Adam Bielan.
The Gala was followed by a charity art auction.
Business Centre Club is the most prestigious association of Polish entrepreneurs, founded right at the beginning of Polish transformation, in 1991.
The organization for years has been representing the interests of Polish entrepreneurs and supporting free economy, ethical business and business responsibility.
The organization is involved in the legislation process, providing opinion and feedback on the planned legal amendments and new acts. The organization even has its own Shadow Cabinet.
The Club is a member of Social Dialogue Council, a meeting place for dialogue between the government, business, and employees. The organization represents the interests of Polish employers.
The association has over 2,000 affiliates (individuals and businesses), of which over 100 are from abroad. Among its honorary members are Leszek Balcerowicz, Madeleine Albright, George Bush, and Lech Wałęsa.
The organization is present in around 250 cities across Poland. Business Centre Club is chaired by Marek Goliszewski.
